Methods and Devices to Determine Hemoglobin Non Invasively: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim of this study is to review the methods used to determine hemoglobin non invasively while many conventional devices and techniques are available for measurements readily in the market. This paper discusses the advantage of non invasive measurement specifically focusing on techniques like pulse oximeter, occlusion spectroscopy, opto acoustic method, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and the devices that are based on these technologies. The study also explores the frontier involving new methods such as image processing techniques which hold even better scope applied for hemoglobin detection.

Non-Invasive Techniques for Detection of Hemoglobin in Blood:A Review
Hemoglobin is the most important blood parameter. Hemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carry oxygen to the body. Low level of hemoglobin can be due to disease like anemia and high hemoglobin level may be due to polycythemia Vera. Conventional methods are mostly used to calculate hemoglobin level. These methods involve pricking of blood with needle and sending it to laboratory for f...
متن کاملNon-invasive Optical Techniques for determination of blood Glucose levels: A Review Article
This article reviews the development of non-invasive optical techniques for determination of blood glucose concentrations in diabetic patients. Early diagnosis and daily management are essential for ensuring the healthy life of diabetic patients. The determination of blood glucose concentration with common devices involves the chemical analysis of blood samples, which are obtained by pricking t...
متن کاملMethods of Controlling Restless Legs Syndrome in Diabetic Patients: A Scoping Review Study
Introduction: ‘Restless Legs Syndrome’ is a sensory-motor disorder manifested by a tendency to move legs, usually accompanied by discomfort in the legs. Studies have shown that diabetics are more at risk for Restless Legs Syndrome than the general population. Therefore, a review study was designed to determine the methods of controlling restless legs syndrome in patients with diabetes. Methods:...
متن کاملNon-Invasive Measurement of Hemoglobin: Assessment of Two Different Point-of-Care Technologies
BACKGROUND Measurement of blood hemoglobin (Hb) concentration is a routine procedure. Using a non-invasive point-of-care device reduces pain and discomfort for the patient and allows time saving in patient care. The aims of the present study were to assess the concordance of Hb levels obtained non-invasively with the Pronto-7 monitor (version 2.1.9, Masimo Corporation, Irvine, USA) or with the ...
متن کاملGoal Directed Fluid Therapy Revised: Indirect Monitoring of Interstitial Fluid Accumulation During Mini Fluid Challenges with Crystalloids
Goal directed fluid therapy (GDT) implies administration of fluid boluses with the aim of optimizing cardiac performance. There is a major concern that maximization of cardiovascular performance can be achieved in expense of deterioration in body hydration processes. Also, these methods require semi invasive devices. However, monitoring of the whole body hydration status and interstitial fluid ...
